On Friday Nov 5th, Musawo Adfa partnered with the Rotary Club of Lungujja to host an impactful health awareness event. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Mathias from Musawo Adfa, who spoke extensively on cervical cancer—its causes, risk factors, and preventive measures.
Dr. Mathias emphasized that cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among women in Uganda, yet it continues to be underprioritized in public health discourse. He highlighted the importance of the HPV vaccine, explaining the recommended age bracket for recipients, its efficacy, and its role in reducing cervical cancer incidence.

Following his lecture, members of the Rotary Club expressed their appreciation and formally welcomed Dr. Mathias as a new member of the club. The session also included discussions on potential business and community initiatives aimed at improving access to affordable HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening, particularly for underserved mothers.
The Rotary Club of Lungujja and Musawo Adfa committed to exploring collaborative strategies to make these life‑saving interventions more accessible and cost‑effective, reinforcing their shared dedication to advancing women’s health in Uganda.
